(More customer reviews)This hands-on book on Ancient Egypt published by Scholastic offers many innovative and creative ways for kids to learn more about ancient Egypt. There is lots of background information and there are also activities and projects to put the information to use such as completing a map of Africa and making delicious recipes typical for that region in the world. When you buy this book, please know that you'll need additional materials to do the projects and activities, some materials (paper, scissors, glue, tape) you probably have at home but others you may have to buy or borrow such as maps of Africa and the United States. My two sons (11 and 8) enjoy exploring ancient Egypt with the book, but for some projects they need the assistance of a grown-up. It is a great interactive learning tool. The book also provides a list of interesting web addresses for additional information and background.
