Around the turn of the last century, a gentleman by the name of AE Wallis Budge wrote a book called Egyptian Magic. In fact, he wrote a great many books on the subject of Egypt. He is considered something of an authority on the subject, even a hundred years later.
Why do I bring this "ancient" author up?
Because having read both these books, I must say that Toledano's book cannnot be more than a rendering of Budge's book. Perhaps he used other references, but since he did not include a bibliography, there's really no way of knowing. About the only thing Toledano's book is good for is a quick reference. The only good thing I can say about Toledano's book is that the information is conveniently placed. Budge's book of Egyptian Magic has no index and so it can be an inconvenience to page through it to find what you need. If only to facilitate your search for information, Toledano's book could be useful, so long as you don't consider it your only resource.
So, if you can stand the numerous typos and know enough of Egyptian lore to disregard some of the erroneous info in Toledano's book, it can be a good addition to your library (if you also purchase Budge's book).
