If you enjoy history OR if you enjoy beautifully-illustrated large books (kids love them around here), buy it. I don't know why the website doesn't allow you to "look inside this book", but the visual impact alone is stunning. The text is well organized and in a reader-friendly font; the books literary style is less fluid than a novel and much more abbreviated; however, it is interesting and easy to read. It is an abbreviated history coffee-table book that will allow history newcomers a tour of history they'll enjoy.
