Tales of Ancient Egypt is about inspiring stories that will thrill your heart. The stories are very old and very magical. The book brings you to the world of Ancient Egypt with stories of the Pharoahs and the gods. It covers all of Ancient Egypt's timeline with stories from each time period. It is about wars, and the fall of many cities in battle, and the god's magic. I suggest that if you want to read a very entertaining book than read this one. It was a great book and you will think it was great as well.

This book is a good book. It kept me from commiting deadly suicide. When I was in a deep crisis I was always keeping this book with me. I finally received my vision and saw the light- seed that Bika Reed talks about in her book"rebel in the soul". Life is about meaning Bika Reed gave me that meaning and saved my life. The book gives an insight of man connecting with nature(the nature of the donkey) to save his life in times of turmoil. Please give my deep and sincere thanks toBika Reed for all of this.Peter Jan Koning, Wageningen The Netherlands.

Fun with Egyptian Symbols Stencils (Dover Little Activity Books) Review

Fun with Egyptian Symbols Stencils (Dover Little Activity Books)
Average Reviews:

Lightweight stencils, made from a laminated cardstock. A nice variety of designs to choose from. Will stand up to tracing with pen/pencil/marker for a long time, will stand up to wet media/painting many times with careful handling. Not detailed, allowing you to easily stencil the shape - then add your own details. Works well for fabric painting, which is why I bought several of these little stencil books. (Native American Masks, Southwest Indian, Egyptian Symbols, & African Design.)
Good to use with kids - the lack of fine details keeps younger kids from getting frustrated. Will last much longer if kept dry - but you can definitely get multiple uses with paint, etc. (By multiple, depending on how wet you get the stencils, I would guess at least 20 uses.) A good buy - but don't expect the "normal" plastic stencils, realize these are laminated cardstock. Knowing that should relieve any disappointment. :)

The Ancient Egyptian Tarot (An Aquarian Book) Review

The Ancient Egyptian Tarot (An Aquarian Book)

A beautiful rendition of Egyptian mythos. The cards are clear and very detailed. Each card is related to the previous and next but also stands on its own. I liked it because all the cards, not just the Majors, are completely illustrated. The book that accompanies the Tarot cards is excellent at describing the images on the card but not so good at giving a definition of the card in a spread. For that, try reading "Power Tarot : More Than 100 Spreads That Give Specific Answers to Your Most Important Questions" by Trish MacGregor and Phyllis Vega.

The Ancient Egyptian Tale of Two Brothers: The Oldest Fairy Tale in the World (Oklahoma Series in Classical Culture) Review

The Ancient Egyptian Tale of Two Brothers: The Oldest Fairy Tale in the World (Oklahoma Series in Classical Culture)

The meaning of this tale has been debated for centuries. It follows the rites of passage of a young shepherd boy who rejects the overtures of an older woman and who later becomes king, along with the trials and tribulations thereof. Apart from examining this tale, the author also constructs a theoretical model for the study of other ancient narratives. The author provides an interesting concept of explaining the 'oldest fairy tale in the world'. The background history of the tale is provided, then followed by the author's extensive explanation of the story. It has an excellent bibliography; recommended for those with an interest in Egyptian literature.

Poisoned Legacy: The Fall of the Nineteenth Egyptian Dynasty Review

Poisoned Legacy: The Fall of the Nineteenth Egyptian Dynasty

Aiden Dodson has written another thought provoking book on the New Kingdom. The post Ramesses II period has always seemed poorly documented and now we have two books covering this period. The other being Ramesside Studies in honour of K A Kitchen edited by M Collier and S Snape. The trouble with living too long and leaving many offspring seems to be a recurring problem for Egyptian Kings. As always Aiden explains all the views and comes to his conclusion. With 19 pages in the list of works cited you know you are getting an excellently researched book. Excellent.

The reign of Rameses II is one of the best-known of Egyptian history, with almost every ancient site preserving traces of his time. However, after his death, his dynasty, the Nineteenth, soon fell into decline and familial conflict, culminating in a final civil war that ended with the accession of a new dynasty. Sethy I and Rameses II's promotion of a concept of a wider ‘royal family' may have sown the seeds for the conflicts among their descendants. Aidan Dodson explores the mysteries of the origins of the usurper-king Amenmeses and the career of the ‘king-maker' of the period, the chancellor Bay. Having helped to install at least one pharaoh on the throne, Bay's life was ended by his abrupt execution, ordered by the woman with whom he had shared the regency of Egypt for the young and disabled King Siptah. Finally, the author considers how that woman-Tawosret-became the last true female pharaoh, and how she finally lost her throne to the founder of the Twentieth Dynasty, Sethnakhte.
