Beneath the Pyramids: Egypt's Greatest Secret Uncovered Review

Beneath the Pyramids: Egypt's Greatest Secret Uncovered

When Edgar Cayce began in his trance readings to speak of an Egyptian Civilization that predated the one described by conventional archeology, he was "out on a (metaphysical)limb. His description of an age of builders, 8,000 years before the 3rd dynasty seemed out of line with accepted theory.
However, Cayce also said that the ancients, led by a charismatic High Priest named Ra Ta, and an architecht named Hermes, were contempory with a failing, and soon to vanish Atlantean civilization, dated by no less than Plato to 10,000 BCE!
In this important book, certain to be followed by others, Andrew Collins begins to answer the challenge posed by traditional archeology:"where is the evidence." He draws on overlooked reports of early archeology, as well as traditional wisdom, local legend, and textual evidence in known antiquities to build a powerful case that the evidence has been under everyones noses all along!
Drawing on all this material Collins puts theory into practice and rediscovers a vast complex of tunnels and caves under the giza plateau! Portions of which show obvious evidence of human alteration. He presents a powerful case that the mythical Hall of Records described by Cayce and many other ancient and modern mystics is located and can be accessed by exploring, and understanding this complex in the context of Egyptian tradition and wisdom.
Some will be dissappointed that Collins hasn't discovered the hall itself, but I think he is being careful and responsible: putting together the pieces of the puzzle in a way that honors the builders of that distant past, rather than playing the arrogant westerner imposing his views (or trying to)on a skeptical Egyptian Archeological establishment.
In the long run, I believe Collins and his approach will win over the doubters, led by Zahi Hawass, Director Of antiquities in Egypt. Then the real work of uncovering the Hall of Records, and presenting it's stored wisdom to a world ready to recieve it.

Beneath the pyramids of Egypt lies a lost underworld of catacombs, hewn chambers, and cave tunnels. They are alluded to in ancient texts and Arab legends, but have been left unexplored until today. They have now been rediscovered and investigated for the first time by science and history writer Andrew Collins. What exactly does this subterranean realm tell us about the pyramids, their relationship to the stars, and the mythical origins of Egyptian civilization? Lavishly illustrated with color photos, this is a breathtaking personal journey of exploration and discovery.

The Sphinx Mystery: The Forgotten Origins of the Sanctuary of Anubis Review

The Sphinx Mystery: The Forgotten Origins of the Sanctuary of Anubis
Average Reviews:

(More customer reviews)
This book is full of information about the sphinx and its surrounding structures that has been compiled by an enormous amount of work by the author. Every person who reads this book will learn some new things, and correct some of their misconceptions about the sphinx. It is inspiring to encounter a researcher who has the abilities to find information from so many different sources--where none of them involve the Internet. His data is based on keen on-site observation, historical documentation, and measurable analysis. The book is mostly written well, and it is a fun and rewarding read. Temple's analysis is creative and gives the reader a lot of things to think about.
Temple does offer many speculations that the reader can ponder. The book is not perfect, and I do not agree with several of Temple's conclusions. For example, after undertaking a fascinating analysis of the Sphinx Temple and its adjacent Valley Temple, the author points out much evidence regarding water weathering due to filling and emptying the moat from the Nile river, the buildings' functional purposes, and underground chamber placement. However, he doesn't mention anything about how the granite block in the Valley Temple are cut to fit the already weathered, and much larger, limestone blocks.
Thus, one of the major arguments presented by John West and Robert Shoch are not considered when Temple dismisses the rainfall theory of the weathering. The author apparently considers the interior granite blocks to have been in existence since the origin of the Valley Temple, which does not seem to fit the on-site evidence. And even though the author is fully aware of other megalithic structures across the world, they are not considered here at all.
In addition, the author simply states that he is not an expert on the climate history of the Giza plateau, and does not even consider this worthy of analysis. This is not an insignificant point, because much of Temple's view regarding Egyptian textual interpretation depends on the Giza plateau being a somewhat sandy desert for several centuries or millenia prior to 3000 BC.
It also seems illogical at times to ascribe high knowledge and understanding to the middle and new kingdom Egyptian priests, and then at other times, to assume a very low level of understanding and petty and/or egotistical behavior that it inconsistent with highly enlightened and spiritually adept priestly initiates.
Another shortcoming of the book is that it does not present the exact date at which the author would place the building of the Giza plateau; rather, it only gives the opinion that it must precede 2700 BC by several centuries. The author makes many references to his forthcoming book, which is titled "Egyptian Dawn." This book will apparently provide Temple's opinion on this matter as well as many others. This is somewhat annoying because it leaves Temple's conclusions on certain issues in limbo. Nonetheless, it is a given that the reader will certainly read this next book when it is published.
The book would have read better if Temple would have stated his thesis and conclusion to each section at the first of the section, rather than forcing the reader to explore whole chapters and then lead up to the climax at the end. Sometimes, this made me impatient for the author to just get straight to the point.
There are many long picture captions that strain the eyes a little, but the captions are at least fully explained. The text does an excellent job of referencing the numbers of the figures and the pages where they occur--and there are lots and lots of pictures and figures!
For those readers interested in Temple's analysis of the Anubis-Sphinx-Sirius connection, it should be mentioned that the author does not mention this at all. Perhaps this will be addressed in his next book. In fact, Sirius is mentioned only once in passing.
It would also have been helpful if Temple would have considered the shamanic interpretation of the relevant Egyptian texts, such as that presented by Jeremy Naydler's book, "Shamanic Wisdom in the Pyramid Texts," rather than only the funerary interepretation.
Altough the book has several shortcomings, is still an excellent read for everybody.

A book that verifies the existence of secret underground chambers beneath the Sphinx and demonstrates its origins as the Egyptian god of the dead, Anubis• Includes an anthology of eyewitness accounts from early travelers who explored the secret chambers before they were sealed in 1926• Reveals that the Sphinx was originally carved as a monumental crouching Anubis, the Egyptian jackal god of the necropolisShrouded in mystery for centuries, the Sphinx of Giza has frustrated many who have attempted to discover its original purpose. Accounts exist of the Sphinx as an oracle, as a king's burial chamber, and as a temple for initiation into the Hermetic Mysteries. Egyptologists have argued for decades about whether there are secret chambers underneath the Sphinx, why the head-to-body ratio is out of proportion, and whose face adorns it. In The Sphinx Mystery, Robert Temple addresses the many mysteries of the Sphinx. He presents eyewitness accounts, published over a period of 281 years, of people who saw the secret chambers and even went inside them before they were sealed in 1926--accounts that had been forgotten until the author rediscovered them. He also describes his own exploration of a tunnel at the rear of the Sphinx, perhaps used for obtaining sacred divinatory dreams. Robert Temple reveals that the Sphinx was originally a monumental Anubis, the Egyptian jackal god, and that its face is that of a Middle Kingdom Pharaoh, Amenemhet II, which was a later re-carving. In addition, he provides photographic evidence of ancient sluice gate traces to demonstrate that, during the Old Kingdom, the Sphinx as Anubis sat surrounded by a moat filled with water--called Jackal Lake in the ancient Pyramid Texts--where religious ceremonies were held. He also provides evidence that the exact size and position of the Sphinx were geometrically determined in relation to the pyramids of Cheops and Chephren and that it was part of a pharaonic resurrection cult.

Egyptian Heritage: Based on the Edgar Cayce Readings Review

Egyptian Heritage: Based on the Edgar Cayce Readings

This book provides a concise summary of the Edgar Cayce material about the origins of the Egyptian civilization. It is a very strange subject and may not appeal to some readers because it is so foreign to the way the world is today. However Cayce fans should enjoy it.
According to Cayce these events took place around 10,500 BC which is a long time ago for trying to figure out what really happened based just on archeological evidence.
Edgar Cayce himself in the form of the Atlantean priest Ra Ta is a central figure in the story. It is my understanding that Cayce was the reincarnation of the Egyptian god Osiris and Ra Ta had a god like role in all of this. In fact without Ra Ta the Great Pyramid, the Sphinx, and the many other mysterious monuments and temples in Egypt may not even exist today.
Cayce's statements about Atlantis and ancient Egypt answer many questions but they raise so many more. There are many, many details which Cayce never elaborated on. In some cases Cayce stated that it was not even possible to explain certain things using verbal language.
Readers who like this type of information will probably also like the following longer book:

Pyramid building, according to the author, should be placed not in the context of only Ancient Egyptian technology, but rather in that of Near Eastern technology. This book is devoted to understanding the methods used by the Ancient Egyptians to build the pyramids. Numerous illustrations and excellent evidence complete this professional, believable and backed-up discussion, which will be of much use to interested readers.

Lost Technologies of Ancient Egypt: Advanced Engineering in the Temples of the Pharaohs

Having read Dunn's first book, The Giza Power Plant, at least a dozen times, I must say that this work represents a big step forward. The previous book by Dunn left me starving for more information about ancient Egypt and their technologocal prowess. This book delivers that in spades. Not only has the level of detail been amplified, but it is clear that the author has become a lot more comfortable with the written word. His voice is clear and confident and each chapter has been edited and polished quite a bit.
For a very casual reader the book may seem a little bit intimidating due to its technical nature, but Dunn does a superb job of finding the balance between too technical and not detailed enough. The end result is a book that is very easy to read and one that presents an extremely compelling bunch of evidence regarding what the ancient Egyptians were actually capable of.
I found myself re-reading several chapters, not because I didn't understand them, but beacause what I had read was so astounding that I needed another read through just to let it sink in. This is a truly remarkable book that is surely to become one of the "standard works" in the field.

Serpent in the Sky: The High Wisdom of Ancient Egypt Review

Serpent in the Sky: The High Wisdom of Ancient Egypt
Average Reviews:

John Anthony West has done the world an enormous service with this bold, brilliance, beautifully written and thoroughly engaging book. He extends the work of Alsation philospher and mathematician, R.A, Schwaller de Lubicz, making it not only comprehensible to the lay reader, but the only plausible explanation for the grandeur and magnificance of ancient Egyptian culture. West is anything but a New Age flake, and he takes some fairly tough-minded positions on the absurdities of modern scholarship. Yet he has the advantage over most orthodox Egyptologists in that he can (a) write -- and write superbly -- and (b) he has a sense of humor, which makes even his most vitriolic attacks on those who persist in ascribing the monuments of Egypt to a race of egomaniacal barbarians the work of a rational giant in a world of Lilliputians. His grasp of the entire sweep of Egyptian history is extraordinary, and his ability to render even the most complex accounts of Pythagorean geometry or symbolism in the hieroglyphs is something every would be academic should take notes on. Besides all this, the book is magnificently illustrated on every page. Without any question, this is one of the best books I have ever read

Egyptian Mysteries: New Light on Ancient Knowledge (Art & Imagination) Review

Egyptian Mysteries: New Light on Ancient Knowledge (Art and Imagination)

The world of ancient Egypt was home to a deep and richly intricate spiritual tradition. This is readily apparent in ancient Egyptian iconography, but for most people, those arcane symbols remain a closed book. Lucy Lamy's book is a masterpiece that opens these ancient vaults of wisdom to the modern reader. I found extraordinary spiritual insights in what I have previously seen as a dry and opaque tradition. After the essay in part one, part two ("Plates") and part three ("Themes") present images with text explaining where they fit into Ms. Lamy's analysis. Having read the essay, the images made sense - I understood where they fit in this elaborate mythological system. If you have ever been captivated by, but have failed to understand, Egyptian iconography, this is the perfect book for you. I also highly recommend this book to anyone interested in the history of esoteric spiritual traditions.

Ancient Egypt 39,000 BCE: The History, Technology, and Philosophy of Civilization X

This book is a very welcome look at ancient Egypt. Some of what Malkowski investigates is great: he exposes archaeological problems, strange artifacts, new evidence and enigmas, shines the light on weak or contradictory evidence and theories. All well and good and necessary. I love open-minded investigations and science can only benefit from removing blinders and digging deeper. This book is in the inquisitive nature of Von Daniken, to always question and remain open to the new.
However, Malkowski also suffers a bit from the same "wild speculations" disorder that many of the members of "fringe" historians/scientists do. He can't seem to relax into the proposal that, yes, quite probably Egyptian civilization or its precursors are far older and more advanced than we give them credit for being. He almost crosses that Sitchen-line from inquisitiveness into well maybe it was ancient gods or extraterrestrials who did it? Not necessary. He goes up and maybe peeks over, but should stay well on this side of the fence. My fear is that this book is misunderstood and lumped in with the kooky trash rather than being read on its own merits. But basically, Malkowski does a great service and should be commented for it.
Ancient Egypt 39,000 BCE is a fact-filled, fascinating read that raises many important questions.

A view into the sophisticated and highly advanced civilization that preceded the world of the pharaohs • Presents historical evidence of the civilization ruled by the "gods" that the Egyptians claimed preceded their own • Explains who these prehistoric people were, what happened to them, and why they built a series of pyramids along the west bank of the Nile River Traditional Egyptologists have long resisted the notion that the architectural achievements of the Ancient Egyptians required the existence of a much more sophisticated technology than would have existed at that time. Yet, no records exist explaining how, why, or who built Egypt's megalithic monuments and statues. The ancient Egyptians did, however, record that their civilization resided in the shadow of a kingdom of "gods" whose reign ended many thousands of years before their first dynasty. What was this Civilization X that antiquity's most accomplished people revered as gods? The recent discovery of a large stone at one of Egypt's oldest ruins presents physical evidence that clearly and distinctly shows the markings of a machining process far beyond the capabilities of the Ancient Egyptians. Likewise, experimental modeling of the Great Pyramid's subterranean chambers and passageways gives scientific evidence to further support the theory that the civilization responsible for such magnificent monuments is much older than presently believed. Ancient Egypt 39,000 BCE examines this evidence from historical and technical points of view, explaining who these prehistoric people were, what happened to them, why they built their civilization out of granite, and why they built a series of pyramids along the west bank of the Nile River.
